Meet Britney

Hello! My name is Britney Fredrickson. I am a Nanny Share Specialist who works with both families and caregivers to create and sustain healthy and effective shared childcare.

Originally from Northern California, I now reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado with my husband, son, dog, and cat.

For nearly 20 years, I have been a paid childcare professional working in private homes, Montessori preschools, infant rooms, church nurseries, as a babysitter, nanny, and lead teacher for infants. I attended Bethany University in Scotts Valley, California where I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development. Following graduation, I have continued to advance my knowledge of child development through extensive training in healthy eating habits for children, the effects of birth order, baby-led weaning, sleep training, Montessori techniques for education, and more. My expansive experience has propelled me through the industry earning a position as an advice columnist for Care Academy (formerly SitterCycle) with over a dozen posts ranging in subject matter from biting babies, to clingy toddlers, to timid kindergartners. I also served as Chief Content Recruiter for Care Academy where I relied on my natural sense of discernment and aptitude for finding others who have untapped potential. After that,  I assumed the role of Community Manager with Pareday.com, a nanny share startup that has since been put to rest. As a nanny share community, Pareday allowed me to use my experience and wealth of knowledge of all things pertaining to the nanny world and child development. Both of those opportunities and ventures helped me find my footing, and gave me the kick I needed to create It’s Finally Naptime and The Nanny Share. I continue to nanny, bringing my son along to the nanny shares that employ me.

I believe that a well-rounded childhood is enhanced by the socialization of children through cooperative care and exposure to a variety of environments, activity, and playmates. I understand the desire for, and benefits of, private childcare. Additionally, I understand the demands and difficulties involved for parents, and I seek to provide assistance in creating a balance that works for everyone.
